Our services in Concept & Design

You bring the idea. We handle concept, design, and implementation.

Ideation & Concept Development

Ideation & Concept Development

You have an idea but no concrete design yet? We help you develop a well-thought-out product concept from an initial idea. Together we define requirements, evaluate manufacturing options, and develop a structured path from idea to print-ready component.

CAD Design

CAD Design

From the first sketch to the print-ready 3D model. We design components, assemblies, and complex geometries in professional CAD software — standards-compliant, dimensionally accurate, and optimized for the respective manufacturing process.

Optimization for 3D Printing

Optimization for 3D Printing

Existing components are often not designed for additive manufacturing. We analyze geometry, load cases, and material requirements and optimize the design specifically for 3D printing — through topology optimization, weight reduction, function integration, or consolidation of multiple parts.

Reverse Engineering

Reverse Engineering

No 3D model available? No problem. Through 3D scanning and subsequent CAD reconstruction, we digitize existing components and create parametric models. These can be directly prepared for additive manufacturing or used for design changes and optimizations.

From concept to finished component

Four steps — from requirements analysis to production handoff.

Requirements analysis

Capture technical and functional requirements, check feasibility, define project scope.

CAD design or optimization

3D modeling, component optimization for additive manufacturing, iterative coordination.

Review and approval

Review, feedback rounds, and technical approval of the final design.

Handoff to production

Print-ready data, material recommendation, and direct manufacturing at Swiss3D.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most important questions about Concept & Design

Yes. You don't need a CAD file or technical drawing. An idea, sketch, photo, or sample part is sufficient.
CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is the digital construction of a precise 3D model on a computer. This model forms the basis for 3D printing.
Yes. We can reconstruct existing parts based on a sample part, photos, sketches, or measurements.
That depends on the project's complexity. Simple designs can be completed within 1–2 business days.
The hourly rate is CHF 120. The required time is estimated in advance and coordinated with you.
Yes. Adjustments and optimizations are possible at any time.
Yes. We consider stability, functionality, and printability.
Yes. We accompany you from the idea through design to the finished prototype.
Yes. Your ideas and data are treated strictly confidentially. An NDA can be signed on request.
