Choose the right processes
Comes as standard. Removes powder, loosens support residues and breaks sharp edges for clean, ready-to-use parts.
Is included as standard. Reduces stresses and adjusts strength, toughness and dimensional stability.
Choose matt or glossy in the online price calculator. Improves the look and feel and removes residual powder.
Only with matching drawing. Please specify thread, core hole, depth, tolerance and standard. We will check the feasibility and make an offer.
Only possible with Al6061 and in different colors. Please send a written request.
SLM process - briefly explained
In this video you can see how Selective Laser Melting (SLM) works.
How it works
Three steps to your finished part
-
01
Upload 3D model
Upload the CAD file online, select the material and receive an instant quote. Add the models to the shopping cart and pay via the website - by Twint, PayPal, invoice or credit card.
-
02
3D printing
Our team uses modern 3D printing technology to produce high-quality prototypes and end products. We check every order manually.
-
03
We supply the models
We deliver the ordered models by post. The current delivery time can be found in the material finder under material.
Frequently asked questions about metal 3D printing
Answers about the SLM process and our service
What are the advantages of metal 3D printing?
SLM can be used to produce complex geometries that are not possible with milling or casting. Parts are light, stable and can be produced economically in small batches.
Which metals are available?
We offer aluminum (AlSi10Mg, Al6061), stainless steel (SUS316L, 17-4PH), titanium Ti64 and Inconel 718. You can find an overview in the material finder.
How do I order?
Upload CAD file in STL or STEP format to swiss3d.ch/start, select SLM as process, specify metal, view price online and order directly. Shipping by post.
How long does the delivery take?
We usually ship within 10 working days. We also deliver plastic 3D printing in 1-2 days. Overview: swiss3d.ch/material-finder.
What post-processing is possible?
Standard: Heat and surface treatment. Optional: Sandblasting (matt or glossy). On request: tapping or anodizing (Al6061 only).
How large can the components be?
The maximum size in SLM is 300 × 300 × 340 mm. For larger parts, we check assemblies or alternative processes.
What accuracy can be achieved?
Standard tolerance ±0.3 %. Layer thicknesses of 30-60 µm enable high precision and fine details.
